cosy up with the warmth of moxibustion

Moxibustion involves the burning of the herb Mugwort over painful areas or acupuncture points to stimulate their therapeutic effect. This unique treatment can be used as a standalone therapeutic alternative to acupuncture or can be incorporated into you treatment. This is especially good in winter for warming up in the cold.

Cannot recommend Phil enough.

Initially went to see him about some back issue I’ve been having and he really took the time to listen and understand the root of the problem.

I had a few nerves about acupuncture but he was so patient, calm and professional. Honestly, it’s the best my mind and body has felt in a long time!

About moxibustion

Moxibustion is a therapeutic method in Traditional Chinese Medicine which involves the burning of a herb known as Moxa.  Moxa is known as Mugwort in English or Ai Ye in Chinese Herbal Medicine is a plant which grows all over the world. In China, it has been used as part of a therapeutic practice where the dried herb is burnt over the skin or on the end of an acupuncture needle. The heat serves to thermally stimulate both shallow and deep muscles, enhancing the effect of acupuncture treatment but also as a stand-alone therapy. One common use for moxibustion is turning a baby in breech presentation. Special care is taken to ensure that burns do not take place.
